NC LIVE is seeking to fill the position of Open Educational Resources Librarian to lead Open Education North Carolina, a new initiative to reduce the cost of higher education and improve student success across North Carolina’s colleges and universities. Administered by NC LIVE, this initiative will establish a statewide Open Educational Resources (OER) content hub; curate e-textbooks suited to North Carolina’s most-taught courses; coordinate statewide OER training events; stimulate adoption through faculty grants and a promotional campaign; and evaluate the initiative’s ROI by measuring performance metrics like adoption rate, cost-savings, and student performance.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a passionate advocate for open education who also possesses the operational skills necessary to manage a statewide startup initiative. This person will be expected to own this important initiative, working autonomously, making critical decisions in real-time, overcoming obstacles, and being accountable for results. Because this initiative is partially grant-funded, the Program Manager will also be responsible for fulfilling grant reporting requirements. This is a 2-year appointment with the potential of renewal.
