Library Collection Management Coordinator - LibGig

Location: USA - NY - New York

LibGig, an LAC Group company, seeks a Library Collection Management Coordinator for our client, a law firm located in New York, NY. The individual will support the firm’s Research and Knowledge Services department by managing the firm’s library collection and contributing to the management of the library’s electronic resources. This is a full-time, benefitted position.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the firm’s book and serial collection, including record-keeping Serials and Cataloging modules of the EOD.web integrated library system and other databases.
  • Receive and process all new print Library materials, including check-in, cataloging, verification of invoices, and circulation and routing of publications.
  • Provide physical collection management including shelving, shifting, collection inventory and deselection efforts as directed for the main and satellite libraries.
  • Support cataloging management by updating new and existing records and providing quality control of records for both print and electronic materials.
  • Support of the daily operation of the library, including:
    • Handling incoming mail
    • Maintaining and troubleshooting any issues that arise within the print collection
    • Checking in new issues, claiming missing items, and maintaining routing lists for all print and electronic serials
    • Contributing to the maintenance of the department’s Intranet pages
    • Acquiring research resources for attorneys and staff
    • Maintaining accurate acquisition and cancellation records.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Library Science is desirable.
  • 3+ years of experience in a corporate or law firm environment.
  • Superior organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and to maintain detailed records and in-depth reports.
  • Adequate computer skills including basic knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Suite products.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Library Systems such as EOS or Sydney Plus.
  • Knowledge of Library resource monitoring systems such as Research Monitor or OneLog.
  • Ability to work quickly and independently with minimum supervision.
