E-Library & Digital Team Lead - LAC Group

Location: USA - DC - Washington DC

LAC Group seeks an experienced E-Library and Digital Team Lead for a position with a prestigious government library located in the Washington, D.C. area. The Digital Team Lead will support the research and collaboration of the agency through a suite of resources and services that includes 3D printing and scanning, large research and lending library plus research databases, e-journals, preservation digital repository, agency’s archives, and research and event support services. Work must be performed on-site. This is an ongoing full time (40 hours a week; Monday-Friday) benefited contract position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and provide leadership for a team that is responsible for digital projects and resources planning and maintenance. This includes complex network infrastructure, digital preservation, media streaming, process support, enterprise library systems, open-source repositories, and multiple websites and web applications
  • Planning and oversight of the registered name authority
  • Planning and management of the digital institutional repository, including data curation and harvesting, configuration, access control, and migration
  • Oversee and maintain Sirsi/Dynix Symphony ILS, online public access catalog, and related library applications
  • Provide reference desk support
  • Support the center archivist with the development of a digital preservation repository and workflow, including selection, testing, and configuration
  • Manage the research, design, and development of technical products and services to support the contract
  • Develop and maintain the high-level design plan for the overall logical and technical IT architecture.
  • Provide technical leadership and consulting across the organization, from strategic decision making down to the project planning level

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have MLS from an ALA-accredited institution; BA/BS in the information or CS-related field preferred
  • Must have 3 years of experience in research, design, and development of technical products and services
  • Experience with SirsiDynix preferred
  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a motivated and productive team
  • Must have excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work with emerging technologies and learn new skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
