Sr. Library Services Assistant - LAC Group

Location: USA - OH - Cleveland

LAC Group is seeking a Senior Library Services Assistant for a full-time position in Cleveland, Ohio. This is a full-time, fully benefited role working with a law firm client handling a variety of duties and responsibilities for the firm. Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with vendor relations, collection development, and analyzing purchase requests for both the print and electronic collections.
  • Maintaining the on-site collection, including ordering and managing the distribution of print materials, processing invoices and cataloging.
  • Inputting vendor invoices for print and electronic resources.
  • Processing and cataloging print collection to distribute to other offices.
  • Obtaining document pulls of journal articles, book chapters/sections, and other documents.
  • Coordinating Interlibrary Loans & pick up borrowed materials from partner libraries.
  • Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets to track reference lists for new purchases or cancellations of materials.
  • Responding to or escalating legal content customer service calls to meet the needs of legal personnel.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving collection and password issues by working with attorneys, legal researchers, office administrators, and vendors; Assisting with creating user access to electronic and digital resources.
  • Assisting with back-up billing inquiries for online databases.
  • Other duties as requested and assigned.
Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited university or related field with 3 years of progressively responsible work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Additional preferred experience includes: working with legal publications in a law firm or corporate setting and experience with cataloging in an OPAC, preferably EOS Integrated Library System.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong internet research skills with a demonstrated ability to use legal and financial research systems. Proven aptitude to learn new software applications.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills both oral and written. Ability to speak effectively and respond to common inquiries or complaints from all levels of clients and staff. Interpersonal communication skills necessary to maintain effective relationships with partners, attorneys, clients and staff, and to exhibit a high degree of responsiveness, diplomacy and professionalism in these interactions.
  • General knowledge of accounting principles and audition and internal control concepts. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to exercise discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. A tolerance for uncertainty and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision and to collaborate with other members of the team.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed. Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
