Scholarship Support Specialist - LAC Group

Location: USA - DC - Washington DC

LAC Group seeks an experienced Scholarship Support Specialist to work at a prestigious government agency in the Washington DC area. The Specialist will support scholars succeed by performing administrative duties including badging, scheduling, and outreach as needed. This is a full-time, contract position with benefits.

  • Support incoming scholars with administrative tasks
  • Review applications and support selection of scholars
  • Monitor scholar progress through the life cycle of the scholarship program
  • Answer questions from the public regarding the scholarship program
  • Support the scholarship program staff during the student at all stages of the scholarship program
  • Assist with the planning, scheduling, organizing, and facilitation of scholarship meetings
  • Participate in recruitment activities and events
  • Support outreach activities for the scholarship programs as needed
  • Suggest content for social media and web presence related to the scholarship program
  • Assist with issuing badges for new scholars
  • Draft and prepare correspondence for Manager’s signature
  • Maintain a calendar of events, activities, and major deadlines for scholarship programs
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Communications or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to work within a framework of established policies and procedures
  • Consistent follow-through on all assignments, projects, and duties
  • Experience multitasking in a professional environment, keeping track of all records and files
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel)
  • Ability to pass a background check
