Film Scan Operator - PRO-TEK Vaults

Location: USA - CA - Burbank

PRO-TEK Vaults is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated, full-time Film Scan Operator. The Film Scan Operator will be responsible for handling and scanning motion picture film for multiple clients, creating mezzanine files and documentation for the scanned film, and communicating throughout the day with clients and other team members.

Responsibilities

• Interacting with clients via email and telephone
• Using an online inventory system to locate film assets
• Handling a variety of archival film assets, including nitrate film
• Operating industry-standard film scanners
• Creating proxy files from DPX and TIFF image sequences
• Managing data levels on SAN and NAS storage systems
• Performing quality control of scanned images

Skills and Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in post-production industry
• 3+ years’ experience handling motion picture film
• Proficient with non-linear editing software (Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere)
• Thorough understanding of color grading and color space
• Comfortable in mixed operating systems environment (Mac, PC, Linux)
• Comfortable with spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, SmartSheet)
• Familiar with command line (Terminal) preferred
• Familiarity with LTOs, still image workflows, videotape formats, and digitally born images a plus
