Digital Forensics Analyst - LAC Group

Location: USA - VA - Alexandria

LAC Group is seeking Digital Forensics Analysts to support ongoing cybercrime investigative support services for a major federal agency in Alexandria, VA. The Analysts will perform a variety of tasks to support ongoing investigations developing and deploying sound and well-documented digital forensics-related products and services, provide ongoing support, and implement improvements that advance the effectiveness and efficiency of the unit in supporting cybercrime investigations. All positions are full-time (40 hours a week, Monday to Friday) positions with benefits offered.

Responsibilities:

• Review and provide updates to maintain the reference materials library (ISP contact list, intelligence bulletins) necessary for investigators
• Conduct research and provide recommendations in the areas of digital forensics, evidence collection, examination/analysis, detection, anti-forensics, encryption, artifacts from current and emerging computer operating system
• Support information security teams in monitoring and analyzing sources for criminal activities or indicators of criminal activity directed against agency information systems or networks
• Provide support to improve the unit’s digital forensics capabilities through conducting research in all areas of information technology and digital forensics; developing forensically sound procedures, tools, and standardized software loads - based on the Microsoft Windows/Server and Linux operating systems;
• Develop, test, deploy, update, and patch computers, forensic software
• Sanitize, prepare, and label digital media for operational use

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in computer forensics or related fields
• Forensic Computer Examiner certification from a recognized body
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Server and Linux operating systems
• Able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
• Active DOD Secret Clearance strongly preferred
