Digital Archivist - LAC Group
Location: USA - CA - Los Angeles
LAC Group seeks a Digital Archivist for a growing archive client in the Los Angeles metro area. The position will be responsible for processing and cataloging digital archival materials, digitizing physical asset materials, and monitoring preservation workflows. This is a full-time benefitted onsite position that is perfect for a well-qualified archivist interested in growing, prestigious archive.RESPONSBILITIES:
- Processing and cataloging both digital and physical archival materials including printed materials, photographs, audio/visual materials, etc.
- Collecting web-based content using Archive-It.
- Supporting the migration of collection records and digital assets from legacy systems.
- Monitoring ingest of assets into the digital asset management system and completing data clean-up projects as assigned.
- Selecting and preparing materials for digitization, according to established workflows.
QUALFICATIONS:
- MLIS from an ALA-accredited university is required.
- At least 2 years of media archival experience including working with physical and digital materials, archival cataloging standards, digital formats and preservation procedures and experience with archival content management systems and digital preservation systems (such as ArchivesSpace and CONTENTdm, etc).
- Familiarity with Adobe Lightroom and Archive-It is preferred.
