Data Services Specialist - NYU

POSITION SUMMARY
New York University's Data Services, a joint NYU Libraries and NYU Information Technology Services (ITS) service, is seeking a full-time Data Services Specialist to provide computing support to a diverse body of faculty, students, and staff at NYU in the areas of qualitative data analysis and web survey research. The Data Services Specialist works in a vibrant and collaborative environment as part of a team that supports all phases of the data lifecycle for quantitative, qualitative, and geospatial research.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a social science or other related field
- Graduate degree in a social science or related discipline requiring interaction with statistical software and/or data sets.
- Min 3 years’ experience conducting or assisting with qualitative academic research with Atlas.ti and/or NVivo QDA software.
- 1-3 years’ experience conducting or assisting with research utilizing web survey tools such as Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, or others.
- Experience in an academic environment, preferably in IT and/or Libraries.
- 1-3 years’ experience conducting or assisting with research utilizing web survey tools such as Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, or others.
- Experience conducting or assisting with qualitative academic research with Atlas.ti and/or NVivo QDA software or similar.
- Experience teaching QDA or survey software packages and/or research methods.
- Proficiency with commonly used qualitative and/or survey research methods.
