Biostatistician - LAC Group

Location: USA - MD - Bethesda

LAC Group is seeking a Biostatistician to work at a major federal agency in the Bethesda, MD area to support researchers in developing optimal study design. The candidate selected will be expected to utilize quantitative and statistical models, perform data management, statistical analyses, and related duties. This is a full-time, benefited position to be performed onsite. A background investigation required.

Responsibilities:

• Use knowledge of proper data collection methodologies, and statistical analysis to consult with researchers in developing sound research projects and in correctly analyzing and interpreting data
• Provide one-on-one and class-room based instruction/consultation in both general methodologies of study design and analysis and consultation on specific research projects
• Provides support in analyzing and reviewing biomedical data using sound statistical methods
• Supports agency data management by providing subject matter expert in sound data management principles

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Statistics or related field
• 3-5 years of experience performing comparable duties
• In-depth knowledge of sound study design and analysis
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel
• Experience with using statistical approaches for biomedical analyses/studies
• Ability to use R and Python for statistical computation and analysis
• Experience with data visualization and other statistical analysis software (e.g. SAS, Tableau)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate complex concepts and ideas effectively to specialists and non-specialists orally and in writing
• Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
