Internships The Department of Information Studies operates a dynamic and progressive internship program. This program provides students enrolled in the MLIS or PhD degree programs with a wide range of opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills in a structured professional environment under the supervision, guidance and mentoring of current practitioners in the information profession.

Unparalleled internship program comprising over 300 library, museum, archives, corporate, and other settings across Southern California extends classroom learning and supports the development of practical experience and applied knowledge for professional students.

Additional programs Senior Fellows: A professional development program for senior level academic librarians. The program offers a unique combination of management perspectives, strategic thinking, and practical and theoretical approaches to the issues confronting academic institutions and their libraries;
California Rare Book School: CALRBS is a continuing education program dedicated to providing the knowledge and skills required by professionals working in all aspects of the rare book community, and for students interested in entering the field;
Internet Public Library: The Internet Public Library began as an educational initiative designed to provide students and professionals in the library and information science (LIS) profession a place to explore and learn about the practice of librarianship in the digital age.
