Introduces the fundamental theories and practices of the information profession while exploring the diverse horizons of the expanding field. Students are offered a flexible curriculum that allows for a tailored program of study to meet the spectrum of career paths available after graduation. There are six areas of focus offered within the Master of Information Studies degree:

Library and Information Science
Archives and Records Management
Critical Information Studies
Information Systems, Media and Design
Cultural Heritage
Knowledge Management and Information Management

Masters The Museum Studies program seeks to provide students with a
strong theoretical background and professional understanding of museum
origins, ideologies, changing philosophies and current practices.

PhD Draws students from diverse backgrounds and interests to explore the multi-faceted dimensions of information. Working with outstanding faculty and engaging the latest technologies, candidates identify and research critical issues in the field.

Certificates Managing Information Enterprise Certificate is for professionals who run
library and information centres.

Continuing Education The Faculty of Information’s Professional Learning Centre (PLC) offers the largest continuing education program in the information field in Canada. PLC offers individual courses as well as a variety of certificate programs.

Internships and Practicum Information Studies and Museum Studies masters students have the option to enroll in practicum or internship courses for academic credit.
