An MLIS degree can be earned online. Two full plans of study are available as well: School Library Media and Digital Libraries.

ALA Accredited Degree (# credits) 36 credits, 12 courses.
For full-time study, the maximum course load is 15 credits per term, and 36 credits under this plan requires two terms and a summer on a full-time basis or 12 credits during each of three regular (non-summer) terms.

Masters Information Science and Media Studies is offered. This program requires 84 credits total-credits may be transferred from the master’s.

Doctoral study in Library and Information Science within the PhD program in Communication, Information & Media Studies. Offered through the Graduate School-New Brunswick. The Program has about 50 faculty members, and about 120 students currently enrolled.

Tuition Tuition and fees for the online program are the same as for on-campus study. For the 2007-08 academic year, tuition per credit for New Jersey residents is $515.85, and for non-state residents is $766.90. Student and other fees come to roughly $250 per semester, depending on how many credits you are taking. Tuition for each academic year is set by the Board of Governors during July; in the past few years tuition increases have ranged between 5% and 10% per year. Internships Offer credit for field experience in a library or information center for one semester. name, title, email, phone of internship supervisor.
