School Library Media Program/Certification Yes, a School Library Media Program and Certification is offered. A comprehensive exam and end of year portfolio are required by the state. Students w/ a valid teaching certificate will need to take the OSAT (Oklahoma Subject Area Test). Students without a certificate still need to take the OSAT two other exams prior to earning their School Library Media Certification.

Internships An Internship may be taken for credit (135 hours required). Student must be enrolled in 18 hours of Library and Information Studies coursework to participate in an internship. A Health Science Librarianship is also offered to students specializing in the health sciences.
Mentor Programs Mentor opportunities available through OLISSA.
Students are assigned a faculty advisor based on their particular interests in the field.

Additional Programs OLISSA: Oklahoma Library and Information Studies Students Association-All students in the SLIS program are members of the organization. The Association provides support and information for all SLIS students.
