Humanize Your Resume

  • JOB MARKET
0

Before you send out your resume give it a solid read and be on the lookout for those canned phrases such as "team player" or "strong work ethic." How many of these do you have throughout your resume? One might be okay, but more than one in your resume and/or cover letter can make it seem generic and lackluster. Instead you should make your resume your own by adding phrases that you would actually say to describe being a team player, etc. Personalizing your resume will make it stand out among the rest and better showcase what you have to offer. For other common resume phrases to avoid read "10 Boilerplate Phrases That Kill Resumes," at Yahoo Hot Jobs.
