| School Library Media Program/Certification | The requirements for School Library Media Specialist Certification are pursued in conjunction with a Master's Degree. All School Library Media Specialists must be certified to teach. Students who complete the FSU state-approved program in School Library Media meet all the requirements for PK-12 certification as an Educational Media Specialist in the state of Florida. |
| Post-Masters | The Specialist Degree is a post-master's degree. Students who pursue it are interested in becoming aware of new areas within the field of information studies. They are also interested in improving or developing skills and additional competencies in the field. As a result of this focus, you will acquire the knowledge and competencies to perform at high levels within your specialization. | Internships | School Media students are required to complete a 3 or 6-hour internship. Other students may take a maximum of 6 hours of Internship as part of their program of study. In fact, the College encourages other students to complete an internship as a means of gaining practical experience in their area of specialization in order to enhance their marketability in the profession. |
